Lest your eyebrows are rising too high no that is not my garden pictured in the top photo. I can stick lots of cuttings and eventually have great swaths and drifts of this plant too. Firespike is one of my favorite plants in my garden even when it s not in bloom. The look of the plant is a casual cottage garden style.

It can tolerate some sandy soil but it won t live through extended periods of cold. The showy spikes of rich purple pink crown the tops of all. The bloom time depends upon in what zone they are grown. I have 3 nice big plants.
